Billionaire hedge fund manager Steve Cohen possesses an art collection estimated to be worth up to $1 billion. In 2004, he acquired a piece titled "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" by British artist Damien Hirst, which featured a shark preserved in formaldehyde. Cohen paid a sum ranging between $8 million and $12 million for this artwork. Subsequently, due to the deteriorating condition of the original shark, which had been alive at one point, Cohen commissioned Hirst for a replacement piece.
