Emilia Clarke Reflects on "Secret Invasion" Fight Scene as "The Most Enjoyable Day I've Spent on Set"

Game of Thrones enthusiasts forever associate Emilia Clarke with her iconic role as Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons. However, her journey didn't halt when the HBO series concluded. One of her ventures post-Game of Thrones involves portraying the shape-shifting Skrull alien G’iah in Marvel’s Secret Invasion.

In the culmination of Secret Invasion, G’iah engages in an old-fashioned clash with the malevolent Gravik, featuring an abundance of airborne maneuvers and vigorous combat. Despite her familiarity with special effects, Clarke encountered an unprecedented experience during this shoot. She expressed her enthusiasm to Marvel.com, revealing, "There was a segment of this battle where I was on a [stunt] chariot. Then I took on all the running, although in reality, I wasn't physically running. I perched on a chariot, tethered to a car in motion. And the highlight for me was when they harnessed me to the wires!"

I literally was like, this is my best day ever. I’m a theme park-riding kind of gal. Give me a trapeze. Give me a roller coaster. It felt exactly like that. I just kept giggling. I couldn’t stop giggling. It was genuinely the funnest day I’ve ever had on set — ever, ever, ever. if I could just live in wires, if I could be in wires now— Oh, it’s so good. After I wanted to tell everyone, I just came back, I’ve done something!
